Tennessee restaurant workers find videos of soccer coach raping unconscious boys, police say

A popular soccer coach is accused of drugging boys and filming himself raping them after restaurant workers discovered his phone, Tennessee police said.

Franklin police said Camilo Hurtado Campos forgot his phone at a local restaurant, and when workers looked through it to try and determine its owner, they found “dozens of unconscionable videos and pictures of children.”

Campos, 63, is a popular soccer coach in the area, police said in a July 9 news release. Police found hundreds of “disturbing” videos and pictures on his phone, many of which depicted Campos raping unconscious boys approximately 9 years old to 17 years old.

Detectives said Campos visited school playgrounds in the Franklin area and recruited boys to be players on his team. Once he gained the children’s trust, Campos invited them to his home where he drugged and raped them, police said.

Campos is being held on charges of rape of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor, and detectives said they expect he will face more charges, according to the release.

At least 10 children were shown being raped on Campos’ phone, but police said they have identified only two victims so far. The children in the videos were unconscious, so they may not know what happened, police said.

Police are asking that anyone who was involved with Campos or had a child involved with Campos contact the department by calling 615-794-2513 or by emailing [email protected].

Franklin is about 20 miles south of Nashville.
