Teen, young girl shot while riding go-kart in apparent road rage incident
An 18-year-old male and 12-year-old female riding in a go-kart were shot at from someone driving a truck Wednesday, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
According to the sheriff’s office, the two victims were riding in the go-kart near First Street and Avenue A in Wilmer, an unincorporated community in southwest Alabama, when a gold, 2010 GMC Sierra extended cab truck tried to run the go-kart off the road.
The victims told deputies the suspect then fired at them with a long-barrel shotgun, sending both the teen and the young girl to a local hospital with what the sheriff’s office described as non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shotgun blast.
The truck was reportedly driven by a male with blonde hair and estimated to be between 20 to 30 years of age.
