Dothan police say a 19-year-old male has died after being shot on Wednesday night.

Police said the Dothan-Houston County Emergency Operations Center received a call at around 10:07 p.m. Wednesday reporting a firearm assault in the 4000 block of Richland Road.

Dothan police and Dothan Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene to find a male with a gunshot wound to the upper torso and began life saving measures. The victim was transported to Southeast Health, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as Antwan Shonquez Register of Dothan.

Dothan police say they are investigating the incident and are “working to identify and locate the person, or persons, responsible.”
