Teen murder suspect in Montgomery shooting captured in Jefferson County
A Sunday shooting in Montgomery left one man dead and a teen in custody.
Police and fire medics responded at 2:30 a.m. to the 2100 block of Eastern Boulevard on a report of shots fired.
Maj. Saba Coleman said officers arrived to find 22-year-old Noel Avido Lopez dead on the scene from a gunshot wound.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as 18-yar-old Yesman Bardales-Antunez. He was taken into custody early Monday by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Bardales-Antunez is charged with capital murder. The charge is capital because the victim was in a vehicle when he was fatally shot.
A motive has not been disclosed. Both the suspect and the victim lived in Montgomery.
Bardales-Antunez is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Center.
