A 17-year-old from Selma died in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, authorities said Saturday.

The crash occurred on Dallas County 3 near Dallas County 33, approximately two miles north of Orrville, in Dallas County.

The juvenile was seriously injured around 1:20 p.m. when the 2014 Ram 1500 he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees, according to a release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The teen was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment and later died from his injuries, the release said.

No further information on the crash is available as Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
