Teen killed, another injured after truck leaves road, hits tree in Montgomery County
A teenager was killed and another was injured after a truck left the highway and struck a tree early Friday morning in Montgomery County, authorities said.
Haedon D. Hughes, 19, of Deatsville, was driving a 2008 Honda Ridgeline around 6:20 a.m. Friday when the truck left U.S. 231 and hit a tree, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Lt. Jeremy Burkett.
Hughes died at the scene of the wreck about 15 miles north of Troy.
A 19-year-old Prattville resident who was a passenger in the Honda was injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued investigating the wreck.
