Teen boy shot Monday morning in north Alabama, police say

A teenage boy was taken to the hospital after he was shot Monday morning in north Alabama, police said.

Trinity police responded near Mountain Cove Road, where they found the victim, only identified as a boy between the ages of 13 and 18, suffering from a gunshot wound, Chief Michael Hughes told AL.com.

The boy was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital. The extent of his injuries was unknown as of Monday afternoon.
