A North Carolina theme park dealt with an unusual occurrence over the weekend.

A 13-year-old boy climbed inside a claw machine to steal a prize and got stuck over the weekend, a spokesperson for the theme park confirmed.

Park officials learned the 13-year-old boy got into the Cosmic XL Bonus Game.

A medical team responded to the scene, unlocked it and freed the boy., Carowinds Director of Communications Courtney McGarry Weber told USA TODAY on Wednesday.

According to reports, the child was treated for unspecified injuries and released after spending 17 minutes inside the machine.

Weber said the boys has been banned from the park for one year for the reported attempted theft.
