Target shoplifter in Atlanta stole TV, returned it to steal another only to be chased down by cops

A Target shoplifter who stole a television tried to return it, so he could steal a more expensive one but was chased down by Atlanta police as he pleaded he “didn’t want to go to jail.”

Police responded to a call at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 that a shoplifter was trying to steal a television.

“The security guard advised a suspect had stolen one television from the store and returned moments later to take another,” police said, per The Post.

Officers found the man leaving the store with a TV inside a shopping cart. The suspect, per the report, put his hands up before trying to run back into the store.

Police said the suspect “fought with the officer for several minutes” until backup arrived and took him into custody.

“I didn’t mean it!” the suspect yelled. “I don’t want to go to jail. I don’t want to go to f-word jail.”
