Target plans to open 300 stores over next decade

Target plans to invest in more brick-and-mortar locations over the next 10 years.

The retailer plans to build more than 300 stores over the next decade as it looks to “reach new guests with a shopping experience that’s welcoming, convenient and fun, whether they’re shopping the aisles or using same-day services.”

The company outlined its vision for the future on Tuesday in its fourth-quarter earnings call. Target’s goals also include expanding its Target Circle incentives with new benefits and partnerships, the retailer announced in a press release.

Target also announced it will launch a paid membership program next month, similar to services offered by Amazon and Walmart.

The subscription-based program, called Target Circle 360, will launch on April 7.

The service will offer free same-day delivery from Shipt, Target’s same-day delivery service, Shipt, and its more than 100 retail partners. Members will also have access to free 2-day shipping. Target Circle will cost $99 per year.

Target is also offering a launch special from April 7 to May 18 where prospective members can sign up for Target Circle 360 for only $49 for the first year.
