Sylvester Stallone filming new movie on Mississippi coast
Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone is on the Mississippi coast this month filming his latest action movie on location in Pearlington and Waveland, according to local media reports.
The movie, “Armored,” centers around a father and son who work as security guards for an armored truck company. Much of the action takes place on a bridge, where the two men are cut off by a team of would-be robbers and must find a way off the bridge.
The film is being directed by Justin Routt and also stars Jason Patric, according to WLOX.
The production company behind the movie, Convergence Entertainment, has been in Mississippi the past three months filming “Cash Out 2″ starring John Travolta in Biloxi, the Sun Herald reports.
Filming began Thursday at a credit union in Waveland. The bridge being used for the action scenes has not been disclosed, although WLOX reported one scene will involve an armored vehicle once belonging to the City of Waveland crashing off the bridge.
The crew is also looking for houses which could be used in scenes and has also sent out casting calls for locals.
Filming in Mississippi is expected to continue through the first week of October, with the movie slated to be released sometime in the fall of 2024.
