Suspects wanted in connection with large brawl seen on video from Destin’s Crab Island
Investigators are asking two out-of-state suspects involved in a large brawl on Crab Island near Destin, Fla., to turn themselves in, while deputies intent on returning to the island this weekend with more warrants in hand.
The brawl, seen in multiple videos posted to social media, occurred July 29 in Choctawhatchee Bay at Crab Island. Two men were left hospitalized, one who was hit over the head with a liquor bottle, which is seen in the video, while another man was stabbed.
The condition of the two men, who were taken to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Hospital, was not immediately available.
Thursday, the Okaloosa County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office released the identity of two suspects wanted in connection of the brawl.
Felony warrants have been issued for Tyravian Miller of Gulfport, Miss., the man investigators say struck another man with the bottle; and O’dell Brown of Lawrenceville, Ga., who is accused of stabbing two men.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of those two suspects are asked to contact the OCSO at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-8477 or online at www.emeraldcoastcrimestoppers.com.
Deputies, meanwhile, are armed with additional warrants for others suspected of participating in the brawl and “will be out on the water ready to serve those warrants this weekend,” according to the release.
Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden said another event being promoted on Crab Island is expected to draw another large crowd.
“We are aware of the expected crowds and will have enhanced patrols,” Aden said. “Some of our neighboring agencies will be providing support alongside our Marine Unit as a force multiplier to ensure safety for everyone visiting Crab Island. This type of behavior will not be tolerated.”
