Suspect sought in violent holdup at central Alabama Flying J store

Authorities are trying to identify the suspects in a violent store robbery in Lowndes County

The armed holdup happened Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Pilot-Flying J on Tyson Road in Hope Hull.

The suspect entered the business, went behind the counter and began stealing merchandise, putting the items into a gray trash can.

The suspect, according to Central Alabama Crime Stoppers, was approached by a store employee. At that point, he hit the employee with chrome-colored pistol and forced the employee to the ground.

The suspect then fled the business.

Investigators say the suspect, identified as a Black male, was seen on video surveillance wearing a black beanie, black hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and gray in-color shoes.

They are actively seeking the identity of the suspect and are asking anyone with information to please come forward.
