Suspect charged with murder after fatal Huntsville shooting
A man has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday night in Huntsville.
Officers responded to reports of a possible shooting in progress at about 9 p.m. on Mar. 24 in the 2800 block of Turf Avenue.
When they arrived, they found a 33-year-old man in the front yard of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a previous release.
The man, identified as Thaddeus Stewart, was transported to the hospital for treatment, but died later from his injuries.
Marvin Dequent Kendall, 42, of Huntsville, was identified as a person of interest, police say.
He was located by the Gulf Coast Regional Task Force. Kendall was transported to the Huntsville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division for an interview, and following the interview, he was arrested for the charge of murder, according to today’s release.
“Investigators from our Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and have taken over the investigation,” the release reads.
“Preliminary findings indicate that Stewart was involved in an argument with another individual shortly before the shooting occurred.”
Kendall is currently being held at the Madison County Jail with no bond.
