Suspect charged with murder after 62-year-old Montgomery man killed following fight
A suspect has been charged with murder for allegedly killing a 62-year-old Montgomery man following a fight early Thursday morning, police said.
Montgomery police and fire medics responded to the 700 block of Erskine Street around 2 a.m. Thursday concerning a physical altercation, said Maj. Saba Coleman.
Authorities found the victim, identified as 62-year-old Montgomery resident Erwin Smith, who sustained a fatal injury. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Montgomery police quickly apprehended and charged Seneca Shine, 42, with the murder of Smith, said Coleman.
Shine was taken to the Montgomery County jail. Shine’s arrest information had not yet been input in jail records as of early Thursday evening.
