A man has been charged in the June shooting death of a 29-year-old woman in Anniston.

Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of Marcus Maurice Swink, 31. He is charged with manslaughter in the slaying of Jasmine Nicole Whitson.

Police officers were dispatched at 2:55 p.m. Monday, June 19, to the 300 block of Elm Street on a report of an unconscious female, said Sgt. Jason Hawkins. Once at the home, they found Whitson dead inside.

Authorities have not released any details of the circumstances surrounding Whitson’s death.

Swink’s bond is set at $100,000.
