Suspect charged with capital murder in drug-fueled Huntsville killing
A 25-year-old man was charged with capital murder in connection with a drug-related robbery and shooting that led to the death of a 15-year-old victim in Huntsville, police said Monday.
Deiondre Gilmore, 25, was booked into the Madison County Jail without bond, police said.
Huntsville police responded to a shooting into a vehicle around 9 p.m. Sunday near Wharton Road and Kenwood Drive.
Investigators with the department’s major crime unit learned the shooting occurred in the area of Colfax and Deerfield Roads when Gilmore shot into a vehicle during a robbery, according to police.
A 15-year-old passenger in the vehicle died from injuries they sustained in the shooting.
The investigation remained ongoing as of Monday night.
