Suspect charged in March slaying of man found dead outside small Birmingham business

A suspect has been charged in the March slaying of a man found dead outside a small Birmingham business.

Jose Roberto Pablo-Morales, 36, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 37-year-old Eliazin Dominquez Solis.

A passerby made discovered Solis’s body shortly after 10 a.m. on March 17 at 6233 Blocton Ave., an area in Birmingham near Bessemer, Brighton, Midfield and Lipscomb.

He was on a walkway near the entrance to the business. The name on the door said El Rincon.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene.

An autopsy showed Solis had been shot.

Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said a motive was not immediately available.

Police Chief Scott Thurmond previously said the victim “had a significant amount of narcotics on his person when he was killed.”

No arrests have been made.

Pablo-Morales was booked in the Jefferson County Jail Friday night and remains held without bond.
