A suspect has been taken into custody in the 2023 shooting death of a 45-year-old man in Montgomery.

Irvin Messino, 34, is charged with murder in the Aug. 19 slaying of 45-year-old Dario Juarez, Montgomery police announced Monday.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. that Saturday in the 2500 block of Locust Street.

Juarez was pronounced dead on the scene. Charging documents again Messino said Juarez was shot multiple times.

A motive has not been disclosed.

Messino was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility on Friday.

Prior to his transport to Montgomery, Messino was being held in the Calhoun County Jail on drug and obstruction of justice charges.
