Suspect arrested in shooting of 4 people at Huntsville bar spits on officer, police say

Huntsville police have arrested 36-year-old Jarvis Trymane Jamison in connection to a shooting that occurred early Monday morning, according to a recent release.

Police responded to a shooting at 708 Poplar Avenue, where 708 Bar and Grille is located, just after midnight on Monday.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a large crowd and located four victims with gunshot wounds, the release says.

All four were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Based on information from witnesses, officers quickly located Jamison at an apartment complex near Sparkman Drive, according to the release.

β€œ[Jamison] became combative with officers,” the release states.

β€œAn HPD K-9 unit was deployed to assist in taking him into custody. While receiving medical treatment for a dog bite at the hospital, Jamison spat on an officer.”

Jamison was later transported to the Madison County Jail and charged with the following offenses:

  • Four counts of first-degree aggravated assault
  • Assault with bodily fluid
  • Harassment
  • Resisting arrest

He is currently being held on a $30,000 bond.

Police said no further information is available at this time.
