Subway makes a major menu change at stores nationwide
Subway’s footlong sandwiches are getting new sides.
The fast food chain has introduced its new Sidekicks footlong Cinnabon churro, Auntie Anne’s pretzel and a chocolate chip cookie.
The goodies will be on sale nationwide on January 22, reports MSN. The Cinnabon Footlong Churro is $2, served warm and topped with Cinnabon’s Makara cinnamon and sugar. Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel is $3 and is served with a side of honey mustard. The footlong cookie is $5 and is packed with chocolate chips.
The sandwich chain says the new additions come from customers who are demanding more from the menu, reports CNN.
“We’ve done that because we’ve gotten feedback from our guests because they can come in and grab their favorite sandwich, but they wanted some other reasons to come in,” Douglas Fry, Subway’s North America president, told CNN. “Grazing and snacking is on the rise, especially with our core consumers.”
The change is just the latest for the sandwich chain. Last summer, Subway announced it was spending $80 million investment for new deli meat slicers that were gifted to all Subway franchisees and installed at 20,000 restaurants.
