A Blount County student was struck and killed while at a bus stop Thursday morning.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on U.S. 231 near the TipTop One Stop in St. Clair County. That location is on the Blount County and St. Clair County lines.

The initial information is that the 15-year-old Appalachian School student, a female, was about to get on the bus when she was hit by a truck.

The crash happened in front of the student’s house. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, including Blount and St. Clair sheriff’s deputies, and the Alabama State Troopers. The St. Clair County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene.
