Student arrested after allegedly being found with gun at Tuscaloosa County high school
A student at a Tuscaloosa County high school was arrested after they were found with a gun at the school Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The student’s charges and name were not disclosed because of their age.
A Brookwood High School faculty member told a school resource officer with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday that a student was possibly in possession of a gun, said Deputy Sheriff Jessica McDaniel.
The school resource officer “immediately made contact” with the student, “who was found in possession of a firearm,” McDaniel said.
The case was then forwarded to the sheriff’s office’s criminal investigations divison.
The student was arrested following the investigation.
