Storms, rain and a low risk of a tornado expected in Alabama today
Another round of isolated severe storms will be possible in Alabama on Sunday, according to forecasters.
The National Weather Service thinks damaging winds, hail and more heavy rain will be possible across a wide area in the state. There is also a low risk for a tornado.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has a Level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk in place for all of south Alabama and part of central Alabama for today (areas in dark green in the map above).
A Level 1 (marginal) risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible.
The National Weather Service is also concerned about flooding and has issued a flood watch for parts of central and south Alabama.

A soggy weather pattern over the next few days could bring an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain to the state, according to weather service forecasts.

Rain and storms will be possible on and off throughout the day today, but stronger storms will be more likely this afternoon and into the evening hours.
More strong to severe storms will be possible on Monday, and the Storm Prediction Center is forecasting another Level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk for part of the state
