Stetson Bennett, Georgia quarterback, arrested for public intoxication in Dallas, per report
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with public intoxication, according to a report.
Police confirmed to WFAA the Georgia quarterback was arrested around 6 a.m. Sunday. Per the report, police responded to reports of a man banging on doors in the area.
When the officers arrived, they found Bennett “and determined he was intoxicated,” a police news release said.
Bennett was arrested and taken to a city detention center.
The 25-tear-old Georgia quarterback passed for four touchdowns and ran for two scores to lead the Bulldogs to a 65-7 win over TCU in the College Football Playoff national championship earlier this month for the team’s second straight title. He also led the Bulldogs to the national title over Alabama the year before.
Bennett was named offensive MVP in each of his four CFP games in the two championship runs and was 28-3 as a starter.
