Stephen A. Smith has Alabama losing to Tennessee with Jalen Milroe: ‘He ain’t no damn Bryce Young, OK?’
Stephen A. Smith doesn’t like what he’s seeing out of Tuscaloosa.
As No. 3 Alabama (6-0) prepares for a road trip to No. 6 Tennessee (5-0), the ESPN host is in uncharted waters.
“For the first time since I’ve been sitting up here, I’m actually thinking Alabama’s going to lose a game,” he told guest Paul Finebaum on “First Take” on Wednesday. “It’s the God’s honest truth. In the last three or four years that I’ve been on this show, I’ve never sat up here on a weekend and thought Alabama was going to lose. I actually never thought they would lose a game in four years until today.”

Smith said the Tide backup quarterback isn’t a finished product and has “tremendous” promise, citing his completion percentage and his ability to make plays with his legs.
“Tennessee’s playing with house money because the expectation is always that they are going to be the ones to lose to Alabama,” Smith said. “(Alabama’s) at Tennessee. They need Bryce Young in order to roll.
“I think Tennessee is going to knock off Alabama unless Bryce Young plays.”
Alabama coach Nick Saban is 15-0 against the Vols in a series that hasn’t seen Tennessee win since 2006.
