Steelers’ Najee Harris runs for 1,000 yards again

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris reached 1,000 rushing yards for the second straight NFL season on Sunday in a 28-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

But the game will be the last for Harris in this campaign. To reach the NFL playoffs, the Steelers needed to win their regular-season finale while the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins lost on Sunday.

The Patriots lost to the Buffalo Bills 35-23, but the Dolphins defeated the New York Jets 11-6.

Against the Browns, Harris ran for 84 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries. That boosted his season totals to 1,038 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 272 carries.

Harris became the 35th player in NFL history to produce a 1,000-yard rushing performance in each of his first two seasons. In 2021, Harris ran for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns on 307 carries.

Harris joined fellow Alabama alumni Josh Jacobs and Derrick Henry as 1,000-yard rushers with Alabama football roots in 2022.
