State NFL roundup: Tyreek Hill sends Miami off to 70
Miami became the fourth NFL team to score at least 70 points in a game on Sunday, and wide receiver Tyreek Hill started the Dolphins on their way to a 70-20 victory over the Denver Broncos.
Hill scored the first of Miami’s 10 touchdowns on a 54-yard connection with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with 13:37 left in the first quarter.
The former West Alabama standout went on to catch nine passes for 157 yards in the game. Hill had six receptions for 122 yards in the first half.
Hill’s 27th 100-yard receiving game also was the 13th of his career with at least 150 receiving yards. Only 10 players have had more games with 150 receiving yards than Hill has.
Hill has scored 23 touchdowns of at least 50 yards, which ranks 10th in NFL history. Benjamin Russell High School alumnus Terrell Owens is tied for fourth with 27.
Hill was among the 36 players from Alabama high schools and colleges (excluding Alabama and Auburn) who got on the field on the third Sunday of the NFL’s 104th season.
