State auction of surplus property starting Saturday: What’s for sale?

Laptops, office furniture, tools, boats, vehicles – including a bus – are among the items up for bid for the next online state surplus property auction starting Saturday.

The Surplus Property Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is hosting an online auction via GovDeals.com from Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 a.m. through Sunday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. For information on becoming an authorized bidder, visit here. The auction items will be listed here starting Saturday.

Auction items can be inspected on-site at the Surplus Property Division’s Montgomery Distribution Center at 4590 Mobile Highway Oct. 23-27 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can see photos of some of the items here.

In addition to property no longer needed by state and federal agencies, ADECA acquires items abandoned voluntarily at several airports in the Southeast.
