Start date set for Alabama football’s 2023 fall camp

The 2023 Alabama football season is five weeks away. The Crimson Tide will open with Middle Tennessee State in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Before kickoff on Sept. 2, Alabama will see how its roster developed since the spring in fall camp. Players are set to report next Wednesday, Aug. 2, with practices starting thereafter.

“The team is taking shape. We are still evolving as a team. Lots of new players, some experienced players to go with some of the good, young players that we have in the program. New coaches evolving into the system, and trying to get the young players on our team to be able to develop in the system and so far the players are very enthusiastic and very committed to developing the talent that we have on our team,” head coach Nick Saban said during SEC Media Days.

Fans will be welcomed back to observe practice for Fan Day on Aug. 5 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. UA is restarting the tradition for the first time since 2019 in conjunction with Yea Alabama, the school’s NIL program.

Members of Yea Alabama ($18 a month) will be the only ones allowed to the field after the practice for an autograph session. Each person can bring one child age 12 or younger with one item to be signed. The practice session will be open to the public.

It’ll be the first time many fans get to see some of the new faces the Tide will be sure to rely on this season, including transfers Trezman Marshall (linebacker from Georgia), CJ Dippre (tight end from Maryland) and Tyler Buchner (quarterback from Notre Dame).
