Starbucks might discontinue this popular item
If you’re a fan of Starbucks double chocolate brownie, you may be in for some bad news.
The coffee chain is discontinuing the popular baked good.
Rumors about the brownie started swirling on Redditt late last month.
A representative from Starbucks confirmed the news to AllRecipes.
“In May, the Double Chocolate Brownie will be removed from the Starbucks menu in the U.S. Our baristas will be happy to recommend an alternative to customers, such as the Chocolate Cake Pop or Chocolate Chip Cookie,” the representative said in a statement.
In March, the coffee giant announced it would drop 13 drinks from its menu. The discontinued drinks were:
- Iced Matcha Lemonade
- Espresso Frappuccino
- Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino
- White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
- Java Chip Frappuccino
- Chai Crème Frappuccino
- Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino
- Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino
- Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino
- White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino
- White Hot Chocolate
- Royal English Breakfast Latte
- Honey Almondmilk Flat White
In a January earnings call, Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol outlined plans to downsize the chain’s ‘overly complex’ menu, saying the company will make a “roughly 30% reduction” in both beverages and food.
