‘Star Trek’ actor gives Alabama city a big shoutout: ‘It’s a cool town’

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” actor Anson Mount recently gave a shout-out to an Alabama city during a Q&A session on social media, calling it “a cool town” and suggesting more films should be made there.

Anson, who currently stars in the “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” TV series and is also known for his role on the popular “Hell on Wheels” TV series, answered questions from fans on Instagram recently when he got asked if he had any new movies coming out.

Anson mentioned his upcoming flick “Kill Him ‘Til He’s Dead,” which is a sci-fi action movie filmed in Birmingham late last year that also stars Byron Mann and Milo Ventimiglia as well as Ashley Greene, reports Deadline.

While the question was a chance to promote the film, Mount also took time to sing the praises of Birmingham and advised other filmmakers with smaller budgets looking for a quality location to check it out.

“We had a lot of fun shooting that in, of all places, Birmingham, which I never really spent time in, much less shot in, but I’m sold, man,” said Mount in the video. “It’s a cool town, and that city did such great things for us on that shoot. It was amazing how far money went. If you’re looking for low-budget filmmaking location with a friendly city, Birmingham. Check it out.”

At this time, ‘Kill Him ‘Til He’s Dead’ doesn’t have a confirmed release date.
