Star of popular Atlanta-based reality show dead at 44: ‘Emotionally devastating time’

Khadiyah “KD” Lewis, a former star on reality show “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta,” died May 30, her family said. She was 44.

A cause of death has not been disclosed.

The Shade Room first reported the news after Khadiyah’s brother, Jamaal Lewis, confirmed her passing in a statement.

“This has been an extremely emotionally devastating time,” Jamaal Lewis said. All prayers, condolences, and well wishes are sincerely appreciated.“

In a June 2 post on Facebook, Khadiyah’s younger brother, Elijah Inegbedion, said that she, “left behind a legacy most individuals can only dream of.”

“Thank you for loving me the way you did and always having my back no matter what,” Inegbedion wrote. “God blessed me when he made me your baby brother and for that I am eternally thankful. You are forever on my mind and in my heart. I love you!”

Khadiyah became a prominent fixture in seasons 3 and 4 of “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” due to her relationship with rapper Yung Joc.

Khadiyah was also an entrepreneur and owned several businesses, including a real estate investment firm and a consulting agency.

According to an obituary for Khadiyah she will be laid to rest in her birthplace of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Along with her brothers, Khadiyah is survived by her parents, David Clark Lewis Jr. and Debra Body, and two sisters, Rasheedah Lewis and Nia T. Hill.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on June 14 at Earl M. Temple Memorial Chapel in Oklahoma City.
