Stan Pate bringing a $100 million retail development to Birmingham suburb

A developer is moving forward with a $100 million retail development along U.S. 411 in Moody.

Last week, the Moody City Council approved an agreement with developer Stan Pate and his company, Moody LP, paving the way for the project.

Site preparation is expected to begin later this year.

In all, the project will encompass between 200,000 to 250,000 square feet of property between 7 Brew Coffee and Joey Adkins Drive along Moody Parkway.

According to City Attorney Kyle Barrentine, the city approved about $65 million in incentives, involvement of abatement of selected sales and property taxes, fees, and permits, over up to 40 years or until the sum is paid up.
