The price of a Forever Stamp is set to go up this week.

Starting Sunday, Jan. 22, the U.S. Postal Service will increase the prices of some postage by 4.2%. That change means a Forever Stamp will go by 3 cents, from 60 cents to 63 cents.

Stamp prices last increased in July 2022 when they jumped to 60 cents from 58 cents after prices rose by 3 cents in August 2021.

Postal officials said the increase will “offset the rise in inflation.”

“As operating expenses continue to rise, these price adjustments provide the Postal Service with much needed revenue to achieve the financial stability sought by its Delivering for America 10-year plan,” USPS said in a statement when announcing the price. “The prices of the U.S. Postal Service remain among the most affordable in the world.”

Prices increases will hit an array of postal products and services, including mailing domestic postcards, increasing to 48 cents from 44 cents each, and international letters, which are rising to $1.45 from $1.40. Other price hikes will also hit Certified Mail, Post Office Box rental and money order fees and the package insurance.
