St. James mourning death of senior student-athlete
St. James School is mourning the loss of student-athlete Carter Carroll.
The senior baseball and football player died over the weekend, according to a social media post from the Montgomery school.
“We are broken hearted to learn of the unfortunate passing of St. James senior Carter Carroll this weekend,” the post said. “Carter was a fine young man and a beloved member of the St. James family. This is a tragic loss for his family, friends and our entire community.”
Carroll was a wide receiver on the Trojans’ state semifinal football team and a pitcher and shortstop for the baseball team.
“Our hearts, prayers and support are with Carter’s family now and in the many days and months ahead,” according to the post.
The school announced that grief counselors would be available this week for students and faculty who need them.
