The Gamecocks’ NCAA FBS opponents have a collective winning percentage of .814 against their NCAA FBS opponents in 2023. The next-toughest schedule so far in the SEC belongs to Vanderbilt at No. 11 in the nation with a .680 winning percentage.

0 More road games on South Carolina’s regular-season schedule after the Gamecocks visit Kyle Field on Saturday. South Carolina has gone 0-4 away from Williams-Brice Stadium this season – losing away games to Georgia, Tennessee and Missouri and falling to North Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. But the Gamecocks remaining four games are at home, with Jacksonville State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Clemson coming to Columbia. South Carolina is the only NCAA FBS program finishing its regular season with four home games.

1 Victory in eight games in Texas for South Carolina. The Gamecocks defeated Texas 27-21 in Austin on Oct. 5, 1957. South Carolina has an 0-4 record at Kyle Field.

1 SEC player with 2,000 receiving yards also has at least 250 rushing yards, punt-return yards and kickoff-return yards — Texas A&M WR Ainias Smith, who has career totals of 2,063 receiving yards, 389 rushing yards, 814 punt-return yards and 298 kickoff-return yards. Smith returned a punt 95 yards for a TD in Texas A&M’s 44-14 victory over South Carolina in 2021. Kentucky QB/WR Randall Cobb (2008-2010) is the only other SEC player who has at least 1,000 receiving yards to reach 250 yards in each of the other three categories.

1 More loss for coach Jimbo Fisher in 39 fewer games with Texas A&M than he had in his coaching career when he joined the Aggies. Texas A&M’s 20-13 loss to Tennessee in its last time out left Fisher with a 43-24 record – a .642 winning percentage — in his sixth season with the Aggies. Fisher came to Texas A&M after eight seasons with Florida State. With the Seminoles, Fisher had an 83-23 record – a .783 winning percentage.

8 Or more tackles for loss have been recorded by the Texas A&M defense in all four of the Aggies’ conference games this season. With 9.3 tackles for loss per game this season, Texas A&M ranks second in the nation. The South Carolina offense has allowed an average of 8.0 tackles for loss per game this season. Only two teams in the nation – UAB and Wake Forest – have allowed more.

8 Victories for Texas A&M and one for South Carolina in the Aggies-Gamecocks series. South Carolina’s victory came 30-24 last season. Texas A&M won 52-28 in 2014, 35-28 in 2015, 24-13 in 2016, 24-17 in 2017, 26-23 in 2018, 30-6 in 2019, 48-3 in 2020 and 44-14 in 2021. The winner of the South Carolina-Texas A&M game receives the Bonham Trophy, named for James Bonham, a South Carolina alumnus who died at the Battle of the Alamo. The governor of the winning team’s state receives the trophy to display for two weeks until it is returned to the Alamo, where it is on permanent display.

10 TD passes in three home games and one TD pass in four away games for South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler this season. In 2023, Rattler has completed 66-of-77 passes for 946 yards with 10 TDs and one interception at home and 99-of-156 passes for 995 yards with one TD and four interceptions in four games away from Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks have played Furman, Mississippi State and Florida at home, Georgia, Tennessee and Missouri on the road and North Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rattler has an .857 completion percentage and a 229.17 passing-efficiency rating in home games and a .635 completion percentage and a 114.03 passing-efficiency rating away from home this season.

13.5 Tackles for loss have been recorded by Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper this season. Cooper has three more tackles for loss than any other SEC player in 2023, and his average of 1.93 TFLs per game ranks fourth in the nation.

29 Sacks have been recorded by the Texas A&M defense this season, the most in the SEC. The South Carolina offense has allowed 30 sacks, and only one SEC team (Alabama) has allowed its quarterback to be sacked at a greater rate than the Gamecocks’ 4.29 per game.
