South Carolina man killed, 4 injured in head-on Alabama crash
A two-car collision early Sunday morning in Jackson County killed a 64-year-old South Carolina man and sent four passengers to the hospital, according to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The crash happened at around 4:15 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 72 about two miles east of Gurley. Bobby J. Stewart, 64, of Blythewood, S.C. was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Four passengers of the other vehicle involved in the crash were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Stewart was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla that collided head-on with a 2013 Ford F-150 driven by Arcelio Diaz, 32, of Huntsville. A 15-year-old was among the injured passengers in Diaz’s truck.
The investigation is ongoing and the agency has not released any additional information about the cause of the crash.
