South Alabama’s Trey Kiser signs free-agent NFL deal
Former South Alabama linebacker Trey Kiser is headed to the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent, it was announced Monday.
Kiser started all 13 games for the USA Jaguars in 2023, totaling 68 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. The Oklahoma native played in 38 games over three seasons at South Alabama after transferring from junior college.
The 6-foot, 223-pound Kiser excelled on special teams at South Alabama, something that could serve him well at the next level. He posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.52 seconds at the Jaguars’ Pro Day in March.
Kiser is the third former South Alabama player to sign a free-agent NFL deal since this past weekend’s draft, joining quarterback Carter Bradley (Las Vegas Raiders) and tight end Lincoln Sefcik (New York Jets). In addition, defensive end Jamie Sheriff (Seattle Seahawks) and linebacker Quentin Wilfawn (Indianapolis Colts) received invitations to rookie try-out camps.
