South Alabamaâs Yam Banks enters transfer portal
South Alabama’s Yam Banks has entered the transfer portal, according to 247 Sports.
The junior safety and the Jags are coming off the first bowl win in program history. Banks finished the season with 46 tackles, including a sack, a year after hauling in six interceptions.
The news comes on the same day that quarterback Carter Bradley declared for the NFL draft and just days after cornerback Marquise “Cuddie” Robinson announced he was hitting the portal.
The safety ends his South Alabama career with 91 tackles and seven interceptions.
Banks, a preseason All-Sun Belt Conference pick, suffered what appeared to be a head injury while forcing a fumble on the opening series of the third quarter in the season-opening loss to Tulane. Banks, from Ridgeland, Miss., came to South Alabama in 2020 as a cornerback.
