South Alabama on Friday released its full 2023 football schedule, which includes midweek games vs. Troy and Southern Miss.

The Jaguars’ annual “Battle for the Belt” with the Trojans takes place on Nov. 2, a Thursday night, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy. The game will be broadcast on one of the ESPN family of networks.

The Jaguars host Southern Miss on Oct. 17, a Tuesday. That game will also be broadcast via the ESPN family of networks.

After beginning the season with four consecutive non-conference games at Tulane (Sept. 2), at home vs. Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 9), at Oklahoma State (Sept. 16) and at home vs. Central Michigan (Sept. 23), the Jaguars open Sun Belt Conference play at James Madison on Sept. 30. South Alabama then travels to Louisiana-Monroe Oct. 7 before an open Saturday prior to the Southern Miss game.

The Jaguars then host Louisiana Oct. 28 before traveling to Troy five days later. Then come home games with Arkansas State (Nov. 11) and Marshall (Nov. 18) prior to the regular-season finale at Texas State on Nov. 25.

South Alabama went 10-3 and reached the New Orleans Bowl in 2022, the second season under coach Kane Wommack. The Jaguars open spring football practice on March 17.
