South Alabama QB Carter Bradley headed to Senior Bowl

South Alabama quarterback Carter Bradley will get one more game at Hancock Whitney Stadium after all.

Bradley was added Saturday to the roster for the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl, which takes place Feb. 3 on the Jaguars’ home field. Kickoff is set for noon, with television coverage on NFL Network.

Bradley, the son of longtime NFL coach Gus Bradley, is the sixth quarterback confirmed for the 75th anniversary Senior Bowl. He joins Tennessee’s Joe Milton, Tulane’s Michael Pratt, South Carolina’s Spencer Rattler, Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman and Oregon’s Bo Nix in the annual all-star game and NFL draft showcase.

Bradley (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) is South Alabama’s all-time leading passer with 5,995 yards and 47 touchdowns in two seasons after transferring from Toledo in 2022. He threw for 2,660 yards and 19 touchdowns in 11 games in 2023, missing two games — including the season-ending 68 Ventures Bowl at Hancock Whitney Stadium — with a recurring knee injury.

However, Bradley returned to health in time to play in Saturday’s Hula Bowl in Orlando. He joins a list of recent South Alabama players in the Senior Bowl that also includes linebacker Riley Cole (2021), wide receiver Jalen Tolbert (2022), cornerback Darrell Luter (2023) and wide receiver Jalen Wayne (2023).

Bradley is one of several players with in-state ties in the Senior Bowl, a list that also includes Alabama kicker Will Reichard and defensive linemen Justin Eboigbe and Chris Braswell; Auburn defensive backs DJ James, Nehemiah Pritchett and Jaylin Simpson and defensive lineman Marcus Harris; Troy running back Kimani Vidal and linebacker Javon Solomon; Missouri defensive back (and former Spanish Fort star) Kris Abrams-Draine, Mississippi State linebacker (and Maplesville native) Nathaniel Watson and Ole Miss defensive end (and Mobile native) Cedric Johnson. In addition, four players who began their careers in-state before transferring elsewhere are also in the game: Nix (Auburn to Oregon), wide receiver Javon Baker (Alabama to Central Florida), offensive lineman Javien Cohen (Alabama to Miami) and cornerback Khyree Jackson (Alabama to Oregon).

The 2024 Senior Bowl kicks off at noon on Feb. 3 at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile. NFL Network will televise the game live.
