A Headland man has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of his mother.

WTVY is reporting that police say Alex McKay, 39, stabbed his mother, Annie Dean McKay, 70, in her Rock Creek Road home Monday night.

Headland Police Chief Mark Jones told the station the woman was stabbed multiple times following a domestic dispute.

Alex McKay was later taken into custody in a home on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and Abbeville and Dothan police assisted in investigating the case.
