South Alabama’s football opponents are set for 2024 after the Sun Belt Conference announced divisional “crossover” opponents for next season on Thursday.

The Jaguars will host Georgia Southern and play at Appalachian State from the Sun Belt East in 2024, the league office announced. Those two games join with South Alabama’s six Sun Belt West games to give them eight conference games next season.

South Alabama will also host Louisiana-Monroe, Texas State and Troy in Sun Belt play in 2024, and travel to Arkansas State, Louisiana and Southern Miss. Previously announced were non-conference games at home vs. North Texas (Aug. 31) and Northwestern State (Sept. 14) and at Ohio (Sept. 7) and at LSU (Sept. 28).

Dates for Sun Belt Conference games will be announced later, typically around March 1.

South Alabama finished 7-6 in 2023, its third season under coach Kane Wommack. The Jaguars capped the year with their first-ever bowl win, a 59-10 victory over Eastern Michigan in the 68 Ventures Bowl on Dec. 23.
