South Alabama added a second commitment Sunday from Mississippi high school cornerback Damyrion Darby.

Darby, from Bassfield, Miss., is the Jaguars’ 16th commitment for the 2024 class. He joins Kansas junior-college defensive back Jordan Scruggs, who announced his commitment earlier Sunday.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Darby, helped Jefferson Davis High School to a 10-3 record and the Class 3A playoffs. He returned a kickoff for a touchdown in last weekend’s Bernard Blackwell North-South All-Star Game in Gulfport.

South Alabama was Darby’s first FBS scholarship offer. He also had an offer from Southeastern Louisiana.

National signing day is Wednesday.
