South Alabama adds commitment from Georgia high school linebacker

South Alabama on Wednesday picked up a 2025 football verbal commitment from Shermon Smith, a linebacker at Worth County High School in Sylvester, Ga.

Smith (6-foot-1, 210 pounds) is South Alabama’s 10th commitment for the 2025 class, its first from the state of Georgia. He also has scholarship offers from Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Liberty and Western Kentucky, among other schools.

The early signing period for 2025 begins in December.
