South Alabama on Thursday picked up a 2025 football verbal commitment from Tristan Jackson, a linebacker at Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Jackson (6-feet, 200 pounds) totaled 109 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, four sacks, five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles as a junior in 2023 for a Choctawhatchee team that finished 10-3. He also has scholarship offers from Liberty, Louisiana and Georgia Southern, among other schools.

Jackson is South Alabama’s fourth public commitment for 2025. The early signing period begins in December.
