Soup recall covers Campbells, other popular brands: Here’s what’s included
Some popular soup brands and bowl products have been recalled over concerns they could be contaminated with foreign material.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for several soups and some prepared bowl products over concerns they may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically wood, in the cilantro.
The problem was discovered when the agency was notified that an FDA-regulated ingredient was recalled for foreign material.
The alert affects the following products:
- Campbell’s Chicken Tortilla Soup
- Campbell’s Soup Baja Chicken Enchilada Soup
- Campbell’s Wicked Thai Soup
- Health Request Mexican Chicken Tortilla
- Life Cuisine Vital Pursuit Southwest Style Taco Bowl
- Molly’s Kitchen Baja Chicken Enchilada Soup
- Molly’s Kitchen Chicken Chili
- Molly’s Kitchen Chicken Enchilada Soup
- Molly’s Kitchen Mexican Chicken Tortilla
- Sysco Chicken Tortilla Soup
- Verve Spicy Chicken Nacho Soup
- Verve Wicked Thai Soup
- Crafted Market Coconut Chicken Thai Style Soup
The product’s lot codes and sell-by dates are listed here.
The products were shipped to retailers and restaurants in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. The USDA anticipates that other products may be added, which could expand the recall nationwide, the agency said.
People with the products should not eat them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
