Some Alabama universities have clear bag policies for graduation events
Family members who are cheering on an Alabama graduate this spring, make sure you bring your camera, Kleenex and a clear bag for your belongings.
Several state universities will enforce a clear bag policy during commencement events. A rule of thumb — if ceremonies are held at an athletics arena, expect that level of security. If you can, leave large backpacks and bags at home. Save the cooler for the afterparty.

Alabama A&M has a clear bag policy. Guests can bring in a clear tote bag, gallon plastic bag or a small clutch purse.
Alabama State University has a clear bag policy for commencement events.
Auburn University has a clear bag policy for commencement events at Neville Arena.
Jacksonville State University will follow its clear bag policy for graduation.
Tuskegee University allows a clear tote bag and clear gallon size plastic storage bag, or smaller, inside. People also can carry in purses of any style or color if they are clutch size or smaller.
Other schools may not have a specific bag policy, but may ask guests to go through a metal detector or follow other safety guidelines.
