Social media reactions to Auburn’s Eugene Asante NFL Combine performance
A 40-yard dash time at the NFL’s Scouting Combine can make a difference going up a round or two, and perhaps a few (million) dollars more.
For one Auburn linebacker, it may be mission accomplished on both fronts.
Auburn football’s Eugene Asante had the second-fastest 40-yard dash time for linebackers at the combine.
His 4.48 seconds trailed UCLA’s Kain Medrano 4.46 seconds Thursday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Asante also tied with Georgia’s Smael Mondon Jr. for the fastest 10-yard split in the position group with a 1.52.
According to NFL.com, Asante graded out at 6.00, ranking 15th amongst the linebackers.
With several mock drafts having him selected on day three, Asante’s stellar 40-yard dash time helps his case to NFL scouts.
